Back in April, Meadowlark was in the area buying fish for his ponds and spent a little time looking at my pond and lake project. The pond is just 3/4 of an acre and very murky. I didn't think fish would survive in it, but Meadowlark disagreed. He said I should put some fish in it just like it is.
I went to Tyler Fish Farms and bought some fingerling channel catfish, coppernose bluegill and fathead minnows.
Since April, we've been feeding them with some floating catfish food that I get at the feed store. We give them enough food that they eat it all in about five minutes. Sometimes we give them more just for the fun of watching them eat. Sometimes we forget or don't have time to feed them, but that's rare.
My wife wanted to know how big the catfish are. From the size of there mouths, she was convinced they were growing at a very fast rate. We cought three. This one is the largest, but there are a few that we think are allot bigger.
It's well over a pound, but we didn't weigh it to know for sure.
