We are in some prime country (Big Thicket) for possible ivory-billed wp sighting. What a sight it would be to see one of those. That would probably be akin to breaking the world record for LMB, in terms of people such a sighting would attract.
We see lots of pileated wp. One of the interesting things to me about them is they always come by the house in pairs....graze awhile and move on, always as a pair. The greatest bird moments, however, at our place have been the presence of a pair of bald eagles who visited one year during Tilapia die-off. Unfortunately, they departed after the dead Tilapia were cleaned up, but they left behind an indelible memory for us.
