WELL I JUST GOT BACK FROM WI. WE JUST BOUGHT A LITLLE 12FT JON BOAT AND TOOK IT OUT IN THE POND TO MEASURE THE DEPTH. FROM WHAT WE CAN TELL THE MAJORITY OF IT IS 5 1/2FT DEEP WITH SOME SPOTS AS MUCH AS 6 1/FT. ITS AN OVAL POND ABOUT 100' X 100FT. I PUT IN IN 30 BLUGILL THAT WE COUGHT THIS TRIP, AND OVER THE PAST 2-3 YEARS WE HAVE PUT IN PROBABLY A FEW HUNDRED. WE NEVER SEE ANY DEAD FLOATING ONES. I RUN AN AIRRATOR AND SUMP PUMP IN THE WINTER. I KNOW WE HAVE A TON OF BULLHEAD BUT WE DON'T SEE MANY BLUGILL AT ALL. IS IT BECAUSE THE POND ISN'T DEEP ENOUGH. OR AM I JUST NOT PUTTING IN ENOUGH FISH AT ONE TIME? THANKS DAMONE

Damone would think you could easily catch a few bluegill with a bobber worm type approach...just keep it off the bottom where I believe the bullheads feed

When a pond has lots of bullheads the water will be cloudy or turbid during the warm seasons. A pond with too many or numerous bullheads is also suffering from too many hogs feeding at the trough meaning food items are in short supply. If you fish this shallow 6ft deep pond with the hook worm and bobber expect to catch numeous bullheads since at 6 ft deep they will not be very far away from your fishing depth. Bullheads especially on cloudy days or evening will readily come off the bottom several feet for a food item (worm on a hook). I can get quite a few bullheads feeding at the surface on pellets in the early evening several hours before dark.
