hey michael, i know you want to hear from cecil and bob (me too), but your post spurred a memory. one time working a jobiste up by grass valley CA, we had some big rains, run-off and sedimentation ran into nearby creek that had several ponded areas along its course. the next day, dozens of rainbows were found dead along creek and particularly in ponded areas...dont know if its physical chemical changes in water due to rain run-off, or just simply the sedimentation choking out fish, but the culprit was definitely the "rain event"
