I live about 30 minutes south of Dallas (ENNIS)and I would like a fishing dock built on my pond. Its about 2 acres in size and would like something in a "T" shape. I cant find anyone to build it. It has water in it now. The ground is smooth and has a clay botttom. Water depth will be about 8 foot deep at its deepest point. If i could just get someone to set some poles I probable could finish it. Know of anyone?

Seems to me once you're filled with water, and you don't have the option of sliding your pier sections out on the ice, and driving poles down there, you're pretty much stuck with a floating dock as your only option. No expert here but that's the way I see it.

If pigs could fly bacon would be harder to come by and there would be a lot of damaged trees.

You could just set the post in a five gallon bucket of concrete an drag it out to where you want it.

JHFV......I live between Waxahachie and Midlothian and had my dock re-built last year. The young man who did the job set the poles in about 4 to 6 feet of water (at the time). He sharpened the ends of 4 x 4's with a chain saw, pounded them as far as they would go and set them in 5 gal. buckets of concrete. He would probably be glad to help you. If you contact me @ 972-937-6623, I will be glad to pass along his name and number.
