Good news is we had almost 4 inches of real hard rain at our pond last weekend and it ran a lot of water. Thank Goodness! Bad news is I had a new Sweeney Fish Feeder at pond level that is now underwater. I am sure the electronics are fried. Has anyone had a similar experience? What am I looking at in the way of repairs? I wonder if this is covered by the warranty?

You may be able to let it dry out and clean it up and be ok. I have done that with a Stren feeder. You can call Sweeney and they will know as it is not an uncommon problem.

Contact Sweeney, especially if the feeder is brand new. They should be able to help. I will echo previuos statements and recommend letting the feeder dry out, and possibly replace the battery. Sweeney feeders are pretty rugged units. They spend there lives outdoors after all.

Sweeney has an excellent auger upgrade that you can buy as well. It's not that expensive and I've found that it works like a charm.

Larry, Pull it out, empty the feed, and dry the feeder out. Unplug the battery, first. Pull the timer out, but don't worry about the driver motor. Call Sweeney and talk with Louis Schorp or one of the technicians. They will tell you what to do. I have had this happen on several occasions with client feeders, and the Sweeney feeder usually make it through the wetness. At worse, you may need to replace the timer. I've been watching the weather, and thought you may have gotten some good rain.
