Hey Rocky. I have not taken my Max off our ranch yet but I have gone up and down some fairly serious inclines on the ranch. It will climb up grades that are difficult to walk up. In the Max you sit in the vehicle so it doesn't feel tippy. A group of AATV folks take them to the famous Rubicon Trail (which is about 50 miles from the ranch) and they do fairly well there. My wife and I plan to do the Rubicon get together in 2007.

http://www.realatvs.com/maxsales.html I bought mine used and then had it shipped. With shipping it came to about $5,200. Mine was used but completely reconditioned by Richard at Route 6x6. If budget is an issue (it was for me) I would suggest looking for a used Buffalo. With the tilting bed you would have both fun and utility.

There are two main manufacturers of the AATV, Max (made by Recreational Industries) and Argo. The both do the same thing. It's kind of like a Ford vs Chevy thing, some people swear by one brand, others by the other brand.
