You might be a pond nut if you sit on your dock having a good time and the water is 8 feet below your dock.
In Dog Beers, I've had one.

If you travel 750 miles roundtrip to turn the feeder on or off...you might just be a pond neck.

If you wake up in the middle of the night and start worrying about your pond.

Unfortunately, there's no "might" about it.
Excerpt from Robert Crais' "The Monkey's Raincoat:" "She took another microscopic bite of her sandwich, then pushed it away. Maybe she absorbed nutrients from her surroundings."

You start adding lots of modifiers to simple nouns.
An example would be instead of saying "Look, I caught a bluegill", you will say "Look, I caught a high wR, feed trained, male, age-3 bluegill".
Holding a redear sunfish is like running with scissors.

When the wife says: "Honey, I'm ready for bed..." and you reply: "O.K. dear, I'm feeding my fish....see you in the morning". Not saying that I'm that bad, but close

If the pond is much more important than the house or the yard!
If pigs could fly bacon would be harder to come by and there would be a lot of damaged trees.
