ML, those areas are likely masses of ultramafic rocks (similar to what we have beneath the earth's upper crust).
i know this is WAY off topic, but a great opportunity to say.........if any of you or yer friends or acquaintances really believe the moon landing a conspiracy......let me be candid.....open yer eyes and get a life, not everything is a conspiracy.
