PFF and Sunil, call it bragging, cause I'm proud of it.....my dad was an indefatigable geologist w/ the USGS for over 50 years....his specialty was volcanic rocks....he personally trained mercury, gemini, and apollo astronauts in the collection and handling of rock samples, and he was picked for the NASA team that observed the FIRST moon rocks (Apollo 11). After splashdown, he and his team spent three weeks in quarantine w/ aldrin, armstrong, and collins cause they didnt know what kinds of potential critters may accompany moon rocks. turns out it was all just basalt....the same stuff our ocean floors are made of, only it was pristine 4 billion year old basalt cause there's no atmosphere to oxidize rock surfaces.
yup, they made it there and back again.
