Is that beaver supposed to be 3'10" from head to tail? If so, that guy's short.

Thanks for posting the picture Bruce. One day I will be able to do that. I know some of his family and will ask how they measured the beaver. I supect that it is streched out a little in the picture. Anyway I thought you guys would enjoy the picture.

It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.

I'm confused. The Prattville Progress headlines over on the left of the picture included, Model to pose for artists. Which one was the model? Lou, a couple of counties north of Prattville

I like the fact that he's not wearing shoes.
I go barefoot when I can, usually only during the day, and in places where I'm not likely to walk on sharp objects or glass and such.
So I'm trying to think how this whole thing went down.............
You hear a beaver out there, so you grab your gun and go outside. Maybe you've seen the beaver before, and tried to put your shoes on before getting your gun and going outside, but the beaver got away.
So this time, no time for shoes.
So is this beaver on shore/land? If the beaver is in the water, I guess you get into your boat or whatever and go get it after you shoot it. Still no time to put some shoes on though?
Then it's photo opp. time. Instead of just holding up the beaver wherever you are, get up on a trailer of some sort to pose, but still no time for shoes?
Help me out here.

Sunill, my thought of the barefoot redneck is that he heard a commotion in the water, spotted the beav in the shallows, put his Jack Daniels down, and jumped it. During the struggle, he bit a nice chunk outta the tail, cause he had'nt had a chaw for awhile. The gun part is just a cover up, cause it's against the law ta wressle a beaver in Alabama, unless it's some kind of kin. Bob-O

Ya'll have a lot to learn about southern way of life. Look at the date, it wasn't Sunday; therefore no shoes required. This needs national exposure. I'll forward it to Greta.

y'all have it wrong, that guy is a noodler. Sunil, it also explains the lack of shoes.........he dove down by dam, stuck is hands in hole, waited for beaver to clamp on, pulled him out, brought him to shore, shot him so he'd be still for the photo opp, bit his tail to make sure he was dead, then he put his shirt on and had his buddy take the pic.
GSF are people too!
