I was looking into Direct TV sat HS internet, like Dan has, but discovered I could get DSL even in our remote location. We are about as remote as one can get these days and I was surprised to learn that DSL was available. It sure is a nice service and relatively affordable.
Like DIED, cell phone service is very hit and miss along our county road...but DSL is great stuff.
