Pond Boss Forums INTRO Questions & Observations Father / Daughter Fishing

Hey gang,

I thought I would share a couple of special pictures from this past weekend.

Its not very often I get to fish with my daughter because of her busy school schedule, college track, and work.

But, a Father and his Daughter teamed up this past weekend at the "Bass Pond" to do a little fishing. As we all know, bass fishing can be tough at times, but not so this time. For the first time, Kelsey used a Texas rig (Berkley�s Gulp) and caught several fish. There�s just something special about a successful day of fishing that makes for lasting memories.

Great pics. I have two daughters both of whom don't really like to fish. However on father's day the youngest (15 yrs) asked me to take her fishing at the pond. So we did, and thankfully she too caught some nice big BG and she enjoyed doing it. Was the highlight of my day. Wish I had brought the camera.

Mr. Eitel, fine pics, beautiful pond, beautiful daughter. You're a better man than I. In retrospect...I am an idiot. I had my 15 yr old son (lives in Denver) for the last two weeks. We had three awesome trips to the downstream ranch pond. D.I.E.D. did not bring a camera. We had permission to keep and move any bluegill we caught to my pond (we transferred 23 bluegill the smallest of which were about 6-8-inches, the largest easily surpassing 10-inches/well over a pound, maybe close to 2 lb). Sorry guys, no ruler, no scale, just a dad and his kid acting like two kids. My wife went w/ us the first day. My wife trying to catch bluegill with a small trout rod (4lb test) hooked a LMB easily over 5 lb, she was scared out of her gourd, but we got it landed and released back into pond.

there is no feeling greater than to share these special moments w/ family, on a beautiful pond, catching fish, the camera was last thing on my mind. will try to get a couple pics of those massive bluegill next time i am invited down to ranch.

I think it was Meadowlark from this forum that said, "Life is a journey and not a destination".

Well, I think we all could to heed that advice.

When we eventually go to the grave, the only real-estate we own is a 3 X 6 ft. rectangular piece of earth!

Anymore, I think CAMERA and then fishing pole, gun, skeeter repelent, cold malted beverage, etc.
A photo is a nice memory jogger.

Ed I agree. We are in the same boat with daughters that age. Life is a journey and physically we all end up in the same place except we don't own that 3 x 6 plot it belongs to the worms. Its where you have been, who you have helped and what you have done with the opportunity that matters, not where you end up. Seize the day ( carpe diem ) so that your spirit can soar to new heights.
