Mike, aeration is good for ultimate removal of organic muck, decayed leaves, which is what you mostly have. It will not, of course, decompose the silt, if any. EW, Dont forget, Aligator, Ms., a burb of Midnight. Used to go thru those on the way to this natural lake from Belzoni.
DD, I'm with you. Sounds like the libs won.
Rush couldn't hold a candle to Skynyrd.
Why aren't yall fishing?

BM:

Southern Rock: 6-7 musicians playing bass, drums, and guitar.

Rush: 3 musicians playing bass, drums, guitar, three synthesizers, and a sequencer.

Take your pick; I like both.

p.s. Will be fishing later today!

Yea. I know, Theo. Apples to oranges. It just shows our generation gap. I was 30 and listenilng to country by the time Rush came along. Didnt listen to country as a kid. I was a hard rocker, Beach Boys, Petula Clark, Bo Diddley. \:D

JayMan...thanks for the info. New to this and cant get to my pond but maybe 20-30 days of the year. early stages of trying to get it to a suitable fishery. No doubt there is a lot of mucky stuff on the bottom since its surrounded by trees. It is a sand bottom and supposedly the pine trees stain the water a darkish tone. Cant see through the water more than a couple of feet. Wonder some times if the mighty oak leaf isnt more of a problem than the birches and maples. I know on land my oak leaves break down very slowly. I removed the small oaks that were right at the pond edge and am about to start removing some of the 200 or so birch...soon as I figure what to do with the remains.
