The only thing worse than live trees on the dam are dead trees. If you have large established trees on your dam it is usually best to leave them alone and hope for the best. If you chop these trees down the roots will rot and this may cause a leak. Smaller trees should be removed from the dam before the roots grow deep enough to cause problems.
