Pond Boss Forums INTRO Questions & Observations Weather - here we go again

Ahhh tis the season, It seems that in Rochester NY area and right along Lake Ontario, Once you hit June all the rain either goes north of us or south of us. This pattern has been going on for about the past 3 years. Once the rain gets within 20 miles of my location it either drops below or goes above or simply disappears.

Thus I am down about 4 inches already and not really even into summer yet. I know that this is nothing compared to some parts in the south, but it sure is maddening to always see the rain and weather coming your way to have it miss you or just tease you while others around you get soaked!!

Enough ranting about the weather. Good news on my small pond is that I now see the SMB nightly as I throw the food out. They are hitting the bugs and surface pretty hard. Its now fun to hear some pretty big splashes and not have it coming from the frogs alone. The perch are doing great and I do see some small fry from this years ( first ever in the pond ) hatch.

I am also using this dry weather to start to expand the pond more and cut in some new shallow areas (3-4ft) for FH and for spawning. The fun continues and the wife thinks I an nuts. I think both are true!!!

Yeah, what's the deal with these rain storms. Yesterday they were coming right for us, then they broke to the north and south of us.
But once they past us they redeveloped and came back together.

Tree plantings this year have been relieved of their life.

Yet another hugh band of showers heads south of us!!!!
