Dave, the problem I see with a Deere is they make it so you cant get anything aftermarket. My bro-in-law has a large Deere riding mower and has to go to them for a blade and pay 3 prices. Our 1950 farmall tractor may not be pretty, but has stood the test of time. 6 volt system, now has an 8 volt battery. It cranks up pretty quick.
