We've seen production as high as 5000 lbs per acre, starting with 50 lbs per acre, in 1/2 acre production ponds, with only a single air stone diffuser and ability to add fresh water. At 20 fish per lb, this is equivalent to 100,000 fish per acre. No predators. Don't think cannibalism is significant. Seems that they stop spawning when they reach a certain density.
