While playing poker with my buddies I mentioned I was getting a delivery of fish including bluegill. One of them observed "paying for bluegill is like paying for cows***." Then told a story about seeing a movie where a city slicker is camping with some cowboys (probably in Texas) and mentioned he bought some mesquite. One of the cowboys observed that paying for mesquite was like paying for cows***.
So they had some fun at my expense but no malice - just fun.
2/3 acre pond 12 miles from that big pond we call Lake Erie.

Mesquite and bottled water...two things I would never have dreamed people would pay for! If sweet gums and youpon ever make that list...

Meadowlark, Actually I was at a nursery the other day called Houston Garden and they were selling Yaupon�s. They wanted $12.99 for a Yaupon Tree the size of a cigar. It just goes to show Location and Marketing is where it is all at!

ML, I was out yesterday and I watched a guy order a bottled water, and then poured it in a cut of ice. What a loser!!

$12.95 for a Yaupon? I'd bet, conservatively, just this weekend alone I bull dozed thousands of $ worth of them....and drank Ozarka out of the bottle while doing it.

True Texan's never sell their Mesquite, they hoard it for BBQ bragging rights  Have you seen what a cord of Mesquite sells for ???
