Can't remember where I read this, but you take 18" cedar shake shingles and a small sledgehammer and drive them into the bank about 1-2' under the water at 45 degrees every 5'. I have put boards and skids in my pond for fatheads to spawn on, but this has to be the best idea yet. I bought a bundle for $19 from Menards, which was enough to do about a 1/5 away around my acre pond on its steepest bank.
