We have just built a new pond! Woo Hoo! it is about 4 acres. We have had no rain, and it is not filling up since the hot tempertures have arrived. We live in Georgia (hot and humid). We are pumping to it from our creek and the its like running a water hose in it. Is that smart or stupid? We have about three springs that feed to the pond but the water level has dropped in the past 2 weeks with no rain. Is pumping that small amount like tinkling in the ocean, or will it be successful until rain comes? How long do new ponds usually take to fill up in the summer time?
