Hey everyone, We just finished a little project at our LMB/BG pond using concrete railroad ties. It seems the Railroads (Union Pacific and Burlington Northern) have a difficult time disposing of damaged concrete ties. The price is reasonable ($4 each) if one can find a use for them and wants to pay the transportation costs. Ties weigh in at about 650 lbs. each! My son helped me construct a small bridge crossing with about 34 of the heavy brutes. It is darn sure durable, permanent, and really not too unattractive.
