I will never forget the first time Ryan "got me". Long story short (yeh, like I EVER do that) I spent 15 hours in labor, Ryan's heart stopped, and I was rushed into a C-section. My doctor had held my hand through a multitude of surgeries for infertility, had pointed me towards IVF treatments, was a phone call away throughout my pregnancy (I lost Ryan's twin
), and he decided to knock me out during the C-section because he thought I was losing Ryan also. I stayed three days in the hospital, and Ryan stayed for seven.
First night with him home I got up to nurse and change him at about 2:00 AM. Having only one eye open while changing him I got a full force soaking. He laughed at me... at only one week old. I knew at that moment that I had either a highly intelligent kid or one with a sense of humor (now I realize I have one with both qualities plus many more).
Kids... the world is better with them in it.
