On my property there is a wellhouse with pressure tank and a well pump. There is a power pole nearby and it wouldn't be hard to hook up the pump. We live 7 miles from the property, but I was thinking of running power to the wellhouse. It would be nice to have an outdoor electric plug and water spigot, and light inside the wellhouse.

The main pond is about 100 yards away from the wellhouse and could be reached from the wellhouse by connecting a couple garden hoses together. The pond was dug just over a month ago and isn't filling up as fast as I would like.

If I were to hook up the pump and put a spigot outside the wellhouse, would it really put a lot of water into the pond fast? It's a 3/10 acre 8' deep pond. I'm also wondering how much hard minerals would end up in the water and if oxygen would eventually permeate the pumped up well water again. There is only a couple feet of rainwater in the pond now and no fish.

I have a friend that dug a well for his half acre pond, but he only uses it to top off the pond during low water levels.

Thanks,
Eric
