Wood - Nice photos. Too bad the local scuds aren't as big as those shrimp. That would be a real good additional treat.

I'm getting hungrier every time I look at that plate.

That boy's growing Wood!
You're making some great memories there!

How's the winter been up your way? It's been rather mild down here. We need to hold a PB meeting on that lake!

Ric, he sure is growing. Won't be long before teenage years. I'll keep them both fishing and in the bush as long as I can.
Very mild winter here also, temps have been around -10c with only a few cold spells. That did change this weekend. This morning was -35c.

Bill, didn't find any scuds at the lake this weekend. I have this Saturday off and will punch some holes in the dugout and post pics for you.

Wood, is that pike from your pond? If so, can you give the refresher course on what you have in your pond?

"She took another microscopic bite of her sandwich, then pushed it away. Maybe she absorbed nutrients from her surroundings."

Sunil, my pond is about 5 hours south of where I am living now. I re-located my family to Grande Prairie about a year ago for a career change. We kept our property down south and have rented it out. The pond was stocked with Rainbows until the renters stopped clearing snow last winter. Spring thaw revealed a fish kill. I am currently renting a farm here that has a few older fishless dugouts. I am in the process of purchasing this farm and will renovate the ponds in the future. For now, we fish the local lakes and streams. I really do miss the pond. When I do start a new pond project, I will be much better informed this time, mostly from hanging around this site.
