Not sure I agree, Norm. Wildlife stuff, 2 to 3 pagers like the classic Lusk article on things to do to ponds during each season, Biologists that never post here, plus Q & A from sources other than the Forum.
I'm awaiting Cody and Doc Willis's article on Bluegills. Sure, they answer questions but I want to see exactly what they think is important. The Forum is mostly Q & A plus some well deserved brags; but the mag winds up covering some almost textbook stuff. Mike Otto has a session on pond, lake, and dam building but he doesn't post here. Theo showed his knowledge of catfish mouths (sicko) and Meadowlark published his tilapia results there.
It has also evolved to appeal to a more national audience. It started out mostly Texas and some Southeast. I expect, in those days, Lusk was begging for help in filling the pages.
Besides, without the mag, Sunil wouldn't have any really good way to stick it to Texans.
It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.

How about a membership fee for posters?
We have one P. B. subscriber in the family and don�t need more than one issue.
The P.B. magazine, videos, and books are great, but most of my pond knowledge has come from the forum.
There should be a way to generate income from the forum as popular as it has become.
What about P.B. advertisers?
I rely on them exclusively for products and services.

I have been reading this forum every day since I found it about 6 months ago. As a result, I subscribed to the mag and purchased one of Bob's books. This forum is a REAL BARGAIN to us newbies.
I agree with George the best way for us to show our support is by patronizing P.B. advertisers. Whenever we buy a product from an advertiser make sure to tell them we found them in Pond Boss magazine.

Hey Norm, I forgot one of the biggies. It was the article about you and your wife and the wonderful work you do with those less fortunate. To me, that was a special issue.

I've been lurking here almost daily for about a year. After reading this thread I've finally registered.
I've subscribed to the magazine since my first visit to this site. I've never posted because our pond is still several years away. We have land in Rappahannock County, VA (within sight of Shenendoah National Park)with a site picked out for about a half acre pond. Until we're ready to start digging I'll continue to Lurk & Learn!

Yes Ed, I welcome you too. Ponds are not a requirement for this board. Subscriptions are though.
Heck, some members here grow fish in their bathtubs and portable "cannibal" tanks. :p
side note: I still just lurk a lot. There is a TON of knowledge here. Stuff you won't find in a textbook.
