Not sure I agree, Norm. Wildlife stuff, 2 to 3 pagers like the classic Lusk article on things to do to ponds during each season, Biologists that never post here, plus Q & A from sources other than the Forum.
I'm awaiting Cody and Doc Willis's article on Bluegills. Sure, they answer questions but I want to see exactly what they think is important. The Forum is mostly Q & A plus some well deserved brags; but the mag winds up covering some almost textbook stuff. Mike Otto has a session on pond, lake, and dam building but he doesn't post here. Theo showed his knowledge of catfish mouths (sicko) and Meadowlark published his tilapia results there.
It has also evolved to appeal to a more national audience. It started out mostly Texas and some Southeast. I expect, in those days, Lusk was begging for help in filling the pages.
Besides, without the mag, Sunil wouldn't have any really good way to stick it to Texans.
