Blackjack:
We were fishing the Mississippi on the east border of Iowa. The spoonbills do tend to ball up a bit this time of year. We fish below the roller dams, and thats where the eyes as well as the paddle fish tend to congregate. This was the week between Christmas and New Years and the season doesn't open until Jan 1, so they all went back. Otherwise, we'd haved kept a couple to smoke.
Oh yeah, and over the three days we fished, we limited out 2 (6 fish each) and managed to keep 10 dandies the third day. That New Year's Day fish fry was fantastic...deep fried turkey, baked beans, deviled eggs along with Walleye filets...wow. Getting hungry remembering...
In a lifetime, the average driver will honk 15,250 times. My wife figures I'm due to die any day now...
