Chuck welcome to the PB forum. I thought your pond was in the SE due to trees , summer haze in pics and dirt color and type. Looks a lot like ours in central Miss.

Do some reading here and you will see that your goals for the pond determine how to get there. You really need to think hard about what you want after doing some reading here. I strongly recommend that you call the PB office http://www.pondboss.com/ and get the books "Raising Trophy Bass" and "Basic Pond Management" . They are not expensive and are easy to read also order PB Magazine( less than $ 75 for the lot) .

If you want a trophy bass lake at that point then forget the state suggestions. You will have the answers here and in the books on how to get there. A lot of us here will be glad to help you with the journey.
