Don't know about you, but my accuracy with a .22 rifle is MUCH greater than with my .22 revolver.
Also, your point of impact will be "strange" shooting your rifle at a range of only 10 feet. I would put a target at the pond's edge (away from the feeder) and shoot at that target at the same angle that you would be shooting at the carp. Find your correct aim point, so that you will never miss a carp.
[For shooting a rifle at close range, you want water (or a sandbag, etc.) as your "backstop" instead of a berm.]
