I think I still have 5-7 GC left. Pond is one acre surface - bowl shape - 13 feet in the deepest. I had several GC that were very old and they don't eat much at that point so I added more about 3 years ago. Young GC eat a lot - they like the grass clippings when I mow the edges too. They have pretty much cleaned all the weeds out of the pond and started on my lily pads - nice to swim in but not great for the BG, BC, LMB, and SMB. They are all reproducing and growing nicely though.
If the GC learn to stay away from the pellets - that works too but I really think I need to reduce their numbers. I was using a 22 revolver - might have to up the firepower.
