Looking for a nice lotus color variety for a new wetland I built today near our home assuming it holds water after we get rain. This wetland is isolated sufficiently to make escape highly unlikely. I already have a lavender one that finally looks like it will survive in one of my ponds after 5 years of trying to die.

After a bit of ruminating, I think I'll try American lotus in this wetland. Now I just need to identify a good source.

Any neighbors with some lotus that they would let you divide?

I have some neighbors with runaway lotus (which they wanted) and some with slow-spreading lotus. If you were able to procure some from a neighbor, you would at least have a decent idea of how it might perform in the climate of your pond.

P.S. I have followed Pond Boss for many years, and don't recall any universally loved plant supplier emerging from member recommendations. (I therefore suspect it is difficult to make a steady profit selling aquatic plants.) If you don't find one, maybe call some of the people that install ornamental ponds in Indianapolis and see if they have a good plant supplier? I had a buddy that installed little ponds and cascades for a few years, and he had a good local plant supplier that he used to finish off his installations.

Congrats on the new wetlands pond! I will try to send some water up your way.

We have a wildflower nursery just about an hr south of here where I have sourced a bunch of aquatic plants to populate a sewer wetlands system.

They have a ton of variety and a great place shop for such, not sure if they would ship dormant plants or not.

The actual name escapes me right now but I can find them if you would be interested, they are in central MO.

All the really good ideas I've ever had came to me while I was milking a cow.
