Haven’t personally messed with my ponds in a long time. Last year or 18 months ago I spent a month in ICU with a ruptured colon. Then a long time at home taking it easy. Still getting my strength and balance back.
I stopped up a small canyon to make the pond about 35 years ago. Long trip down to the feeder and getting back up isn’t a sure thing in my condition. It never has been much fun.
I’ve cut a deal with a young friend. I’m going down to the feeder and he is going to put a rope around me so I can be drug back to the top with either 4wheeler or tractor. I’ll be on my feet during the trip up(I hope). My wife nixed the whole idea but knows I’m going to do it anyway. With 2 grown grandsons helping, I figure to make it OK.
It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.

The last time I added gravel to my smallmouth spawning beds, my youngest kid pulled me out of the pond with a rope. I blamed the muck for being slippery.

Isn't your daughter your youngest kid, Theos?

Just a thought , haven't seen slope . Have young friend slide down a sheet of plywood , tie rope to plywood , you sit comfortable as you can on said plywood , drag plywood up with motorized vehicle . Seems safer than tied to a Tractor directly. Just a thought , even those who haven't met You in person , are kind of fond of you . Or do something similar . Or , if you prefer being tied to the motorized vehicle , take out insurance policies until your wife sees the errors of her ways and decides to support your plan .

When we were young and poor, we used previously owned cast iron bath tubs for watering troughs. Because we were also young and foolish, when we moved them around with a tractor and a chain, one of us would ride in the bathtub. The challenge was to remain standing while under way. We called it "bathtub surfing."

I dont think DD has thought this all the way through.
I am thinking a zip line type of lift to get you from point A to point B, that would make the trip down a ton of fun, for persons that are so inclined, than maybe a man basket on the zipline being pulled back up, kinda like a redneck makeshift ski lift if you will, this could turn into a lot of fun, the missus would probably want to get in on some of this action as well. Just thinking out loud here.
Good Luck!
All the really good ideas I've ever had came to me while I was milking a cow.
