As my pond gets lower and lower with the lack of rain(historic low -4') the water clarity is getting deeper. As a result I can see the progression in the size of my bait fish from very small(1/2") to five inches(5") and there are lots of them using very shallow water for protection.
Its been fun to watch the bass ambush them in the shallows. One ran a 4" or 5" tilapia out of the water the other day and left it flopping in the sand. I have some BC in the holding basket at the dock and was concerned about them starving to death after being in it for 2 months. When I pulled it out to check there was probably 30 baby CPNBG and TP in with them so they should be eating well.
When the feeder goes off there are many different size fish coming into feed so that is encouraging.
Despite what I though were poor conditions in the pond due to the drought the bait fish have been thriving. I am going to have to start bass fishing again to check their sizes.

Tbar,
I can't remember, do you have aeration in your pond?
Either way, glad to hear your fish are still doing well despite the tough conditions.
Good chance that the jet stream pattern will shift next week. Hopefully that will start sending some rain to the parched members, AND quit sending rain to the flooded members!

Yet it appears your fish are still doing well. I suspect you have done a good job with your water quality!
