Yep. If it is a water table pond, then you adding water from a well (or other source) would probably even be fruitless. If your pond has even minimal permeability connected to the aquifer, any water you added would seep out and your pond would go back to the same water level in a short time period.

I still think an effective rain dance is your best option.

Of course, you have to be careful ... some expert advice on Pond Boss is VERY powerful! I would hate to have you bring a hurricane onshore this fall and get 20 inches of rain during a single day.
