We should remember Mr.Biller does not want to use fish pellets for his pond.
Doing some calculations the weight of the LMB stocked in the Biller 0.5 ac pond was about 26 lbs or 53 lbs/ac for a total of 170 bass as 125 3"-4"; 12 6"-8"; 10 8"-10" and 23 10"-13". At this point there is no idea how many of the125 3"-4" bass were eaten by the larger bass. A 3.5" LMB weighs around +/-9 grams (0.0198lb or 0.30 oz) Let's us assume 70% (87) of the smallest bass were eliminated leaving 35-37 smallest bass still alive. This reduces the total weight of the bass stocked from 26 lbs to about 24 lbs in 0.5 ac (48 lbs/ac).
IMO This is a lot of bass predation ability for a clear water pond having 6ft-8ft of clarity, no pellet feeding and good alkalinity. I think low numbers of young BG from the 2025 and 2026 spawning years will probably survive especially because the only refuge habitat in the pond is filamentous algae along the pond margins.
