I have a 1.5 acre pond. Stocked it with 750 bluegill in April 2025. In December of 2025, I placed 60 largemouth bass in the pond. This summer I am catching bluegill from 1 inch to 6 inch. Every cast you can catch a small bluegill.
My question surrounds the bass that was placed in the pond in December. I have not been able to catch a single bass nor have I observed any bass striking the top water.
Am I expecting too much too early? How big should be the bass be at this point (7/8 months old). I am not feeding any of the fish in this pond. Shouldn't I be able to see the bass striking the top water to feed on bugs, etc.....??
Thanks for any opinions and comments.
