A SWAG would be just fine.

In a pond with very few YOY <10" & very few adult LMB, very few BG <4", most of BG population >6" hence an unbalanced pond.

What would be the rate of survivability of 100 LMB fingerlings 1.5" to 2 yrs & 10"? My guess is <20%. I understand that a fry has a <5% chance. The more mature & larger the fish the greater the chance to become a year older.

Anyone hazard a guess?

My $0.02:

1.5"? 10% if you are lucky.

10"? Probably could apply Lusk's adult fish transfer numbers - 1/3 do well. 1/3 do okay, 1/3 decline (and with adults present, disappear)

P.S. I have been stocking apx 3" LMB into a pond with what I deem a deficiency of LMB for 4 years, hoping for 10% survival.

I once heard that 99% of the eggs laid and hatched will never become adults. They get eaten.

It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.

See the threads on habituation.

Here is one.

"What would be the rate of survivability of 100 LMB fingerlings 1.5" to 2 yrs & 10"?" I assume you mean years but what size at stocking?

"The more mature & larger the fish the greater the chance to become a year older." Yes that is true. IMO if I understand the situation using 6 in LMB (4 mtns old+- ) fingerlings with habituation 75% to 90% to one additional year. Then natural mortality starts to work. If you are using Fla LMB then 10% to 10 years old.
