I've been tossing out a lot of seed to try and get vegetation established on my banks and there are clearly some spots that are having a lot of difficulty. By some spots I mean I'm only growing good vegetation over about 25% of the pond banks, struggling vegetation over 50% and really struggling over the remaining 25%. I've got a spray rig for my tractor and an IBC tote full of urea (nitrogen). I'd like to spray the banks with a light application of it. Maybe 10:1. I kind of feel like I'm in a catch 22 here, spray nitrogen on the banks and risk it is running into the pond, or not have any vegetation and watch my banks erode into my pond. I stocked with fish last year, did another stocking this year. I feel that if I'm going to do this now would be the time since the fish load in the pond is at its lightest. Any other thoughts or suggestions?
