At the DFW Saturday PB meeting, Tentmaker brought in several pictures of his operation. Some of them were pictures of his homemade feeders and supporting structure.
His pictures gave me an idea for a pier mounted feeder gate, which I'd like to call Tentmaker's gate, that can be easily mounted on your pier post using standard 5/8 J bolts and 1&5/8 inch line posts from chain link fence. The beauty of this gate, other than its simplicity, is that it easily swings in for feeder refilling and out for fish feeding. It also will help make raccoon damage more difficult by putting your feeder out over the water removed from the pier. I estimate that this version will easily support 200 pounds of feed.
I made one up and would be happy to send a picture of it to anyone who so requests.
I thank Tentmaker for bringing his pictures and for a great practical idea.

I use the same concept. I have to say, I did not build a fence swing gate, but I like it. Just went to a garage sale where they had the same feeder, made by moultrie for $4.00 each. Felt kinda bad buying all three.
