Got a big shop on your property for some tanks? You could scoop out some of your existing (well adapted) chubsuckers as brooders and raise a bunch as an aquaculture project to transfer to your big lake every year.

Likewise, do you have a tiny pond somewhere on your property that you could re-shape to make very easy for seining? If so, you could use that as a forage pond. 0.05 to 0.2 acres can raise a lot of small fish. (For chubsuckers, or even bluegill if your lake is short of a certain size class.)

You also might be able to easily afford the products to improve your water chemistry in the small forage pond. Although you would then have to be more careful to acclimate your fish to the different water chemistry in your main lake.
