I agree with Bill. 2 or 3 should be plenty. They ARE getting around the age that they should be removed and new ones added, but at this point if you can get the majority out you should be good. If you start seeing too much underwater growth, just add 1 or 2.

Unless they are eating pellets in the pond, I don't know of any way to catch them. Bowfishing is about your only option, and doing that during the day is hard because they are spooky. It probably would be easier to do at night.
