So I finally pulled the trigger on a livescope setup a little over a yr ago, I'm somewhat technologically challenged, as in I am not experienced in tech, but it has worked great for finding and marking submerged brushpiles in my pond, many of which I didnt remember where they were till I got hung up on them, and also showed me which ones hold fish and which ones didnt, plus water temps.

Anyhow its been working fine till I took it out yesterday to check out some structure as was having problems finding fish so far this spring. the water temp reading seems to be way off, it was reading all over the board, from 56 degrees to 63 degrees water temps, there's no way the water is anywhere near that warm.

I dont know if there is a way to calibrate it or has anybody had any experience in this situation?

Thanks in advance!

All the really good ideas I've ever had came to me while I was milking a cow.

Gehajake , I always say " believe the graph " .. there might be a way to calibrate them and I am 7 years under my belt with a live scope and to this day have never had a reason to question it , I am maybe 60 miles south of you and Friday was out on my 2.5 acre pond and i did have 49 degree water on the lower side and 53 on the north west corner ( about 7 feet deep all the way ) , its been WINDY AND SUNNY the last week or so so depending on your depth and or mud bottom / rock or whatever I would believe that graph

I would at least get a sinking swimming pool thermometer. Throw it in on several spots where you have livescope temperature readings and compare.

Cheap pool thermometers are not typically perfectly accurate for absolute temperature. However, they usually do have good repeatability.

If pool thermometer reads at 55, where livescope says 56; and 62 where livescope says 63, then your livescope is probably reading fairly accurate.
