It's hard to support enough forage for LMB without BG. You could go with alternative predators like HSB (take feed very well) or SMB (need special spawning structure to maintain a population), either of which should interface well with YP and RES.

Lots of info here on HSB, and you can do a search for posts by Brettski who developed a very nice SMB/YP/RES pond near Kokomo.

Cody Note: The SMB &/or HSB / YP / RES fish community is a very good way to initially stock the pond. Then If you don't like that type of fishery you can always later add BG and LMB. The BG LMB will within a few years will dominate to replace the smallmouth, perch and redears. You cannot get that type of a good SMB-YP fishery that does not bother swimmers when starting with BG-LMB!
