Ok, bit the bullet today and stocked 3,000 golden shiners in the pond. They ranged from 3-5 inches.
Had about a 45 minute drive from the hatchery and lost less than twenty so that was good.
They weren't cheap at thirteen cents apiece, so I'm hoping some make it to spawn next spring. Time will tell if this was a good investment or an expensive snack.
