I am not sure whether the muck reducing products are worth the squeeze if the pond has a properly designed aeration system in it and it is run according to its design. Meaning if the system is designed to be run 24/7 and you only run it at night you might not see the amount of O2 at the bottom of the pond where the bacteria will be working on the organics that you would see if you ran it 24/7.Aerobic bacteria break down organics much faster than anaerobic bacteria.

That's the reason why aeration systems are used in waste water treatment plants.
