I'm not the OP, but since my last post in this thread I can now report that at least one of my ponds has a self-sustaining trout population.
The pond that has the for certain BRKT population is just under 1.5 acres and about 10 feet deep.
No management has been done to it for at least 30 years. I see lots of fish in it, and I've caught 4 BRKT and about 40 PS.
It looks like there are other fish, but with my limited time there, I have not caught anything different yet.
Soon it will be frozen and I'll try for more next spring.
