This is the bait that I find seems to work best for me. Rig these up on a 1/4 oz jighead on light line (I use 6lb on an ultralight). Fish it faster than a plastic worm, but slow, letting it bounce off the bottom. You could rig up a drop shot and I think it would produce results. I use a slightly larger hook on the jig, like a 1/0 to keep you from catching bluegill, which will attack it also, you will probably still catch a few.
I find the best results are in front of the feeder or near it, the bass know the small fish feed here.
