Noticed your signature says "grower of champion bullheads". Are you referring to this pond with the crappie. Anyways, tell us more of story. You've moved to a new house with a subdivision pond? How large is the pond? Other species present? No LMB so far in your samples?

Regarding the white crappie, that very well may be the thinnest I have yet to see. It's lacking height and looks razor thin too. Hopefully you can nuke the pond with the help of neighbors but if nuking the pond cannot be done because of the neighbors ... there still may be hope with the right number of large (>17") LMB. It's loaded with forage and so long as there are predators large enough to consume them ... the pond could still grow a few dandy LMB and (eventually modestly larger WCP).
