I have a customer that grows large Bluegills in his 4 acre pond. He has some Walleye, Smallmouth Bass and Hybrid Striped Bass. He harvests around 300 to 400 bluegill per acre per year. That does not include the Yellow Perch that he harvests, nor the Hybrid Crappie. He has a reproducing population of Golden Shiners in his pond, but we are always mindful of the Hybrid Crappie population. It has to be monitored carefully to prevent over population.
